Answers to Common Private-labeling Matcha Powder Inquiries

Think of the process like this: you're building a house (your brand), and we'll provide all of the materials (matcha and tea products, supplies, and logistics) within the said house. Of course, you're welcome to change our suggested materials and ideas for your white label project or private matcha branding. 

You can swap out the curtains for better color -- so to speak. You can add some extra furniture to your house (new matcha products), and ultimately we'll present you with all of the possibilities for private-branded matcha and exactly how they will all look in the end BEFORE you order. 

In the following post, we're spotlighting our product branding - matcha green tea - as an example of what could potentially go into your custom packaging design. You are welcome to use any ideas and frequently asked questions presented below – or – take inspiration from this idea when building your brand through the growing matcha market. Here's a brief overview of the most common questions for private matcha labeling.

 CAN I CHOOSE MY CONTAINER TYPE?

 There are various containers to choose from, each with benefits and limitations. These include:

1. Tin box.
2. Jar/bottle/tin canister.
3. Bulk bag or scoop.
4. Small plastic to-go packs
5. The custom packaging you recommend. 

You can also consider more creative options, such as a tea bag or a box of on-the-go stick packs with the matcha of your choice (private or white label). 

CAN I CHOOSE MY OWN INGREDIENTS OR BLEND?

You're free to use our existing formulas or create a proprietary blend of ingredients you want to add to your OEM matcha or private-label green tea powder. The ingredients list for your green tea product can be used in part to help promote the health benefits of consuming your matcha powder - specifically, the antioxidants and catechins found in the plant. You could also include other specific matcha benefits, such as those listed on our website (e.g., caffeine and L-Theanine). WHO HAS CONTROL OVER THE DESIGN PROCESS?

You can either hire a professional graphic designer or do it yourself — or you could even use a free logo maker. There are also services online where you can hire designers for an excellent price to expedite the creation of your custom-branded matcha products. But, of course, you'll always have complete control and rights to the designs which you create – we'll use them to make the finished private-label matcha product to the specifications that you order us to do. 

WHAT BRANDING WILL BE USED ON THE PRIVATE LABEL MATCHA? 

Your chosen logo, color palette, and other design elements can be integrated across all or most of your brand's platforms (website, social media, packaging, etc. Plus, these elements may be used to brand your matcha products (OEM, Private Label, and White Label). Depending on your container type, size, and ingredient list, you can either sticker your finished matcha products or design a fully-printed bag or box to hold the product. We will not limit the range of branding you're allowed to use in your matcha private label products. Still, we will be required to submit some of your design to the regulatory authorities in situations where you're making specific claims or requiring organic certification.

HOW DO I FIND THE RIGHT PACKAGING OR LABELS FOR MY MATCHA PRIVATE LABEL?

If you decide to go with stickers, you'll want to find a strong adhesive that will stay intact through the production process and through the use by the end-consumer. There are various ways to stick your stickers to the jars, bags, or boxes – but make sure to choose a size that doesn't cover too much of the final packaging item. The reason is that it allows customers to better see what format you'll be selling the branded matcha products in. If you choose one of our standard packaging options, we'll provide you with a square or circular die and other net drawings for your designer to get started with. 

HOW DO I CHOOSE A STRONG AND STURDY PACKAGING FOR BRANDED MATCHA? 

Packaging is one of the most significant aspects of your brand design because it helps communicate with your customers why your future green tea powder product is the best in the market. When we offer the service of private-label matcha, you have some flexibility about the size, shape, and material of your packaging – which ultimately will influence how customers experience your brand. For example, if your product vision is very delicate, you'll want to package it in something smaller and sturdier. However, if your matcha private label project has a fragile jar (e.g., glass), you should consider that when choosing your packaging since you may want to have a box around it. We can offer either. 

HOW DO I PICK THE RIGHT MATCHA TEA GRADE FOR ORIGINAL BRANDING OR WHITE LABEL?

Before getting too far ahead of yourself, it's essential to specify which grade of matcha green tea you'll want to use in this branded project. From the most straightforward view, our OEM Matcha services are available in three grades at the moment: c) premium, b) culinary, and a) ceremonial or drinking grade; we also offer full-spectrum private-labeling on our myriad of Japanese Green Teas and roasted products such as hojicha private label, sencha private label, and gyokuro private label. WHAT IS THE SHELF-LIFE AND GUARANTEE OF MATCHA PRIVATE-LABELED? 

If you want your product to last longer and be more competitive than the others, you may need an organic, non-GMO ingredient list. We can assure you of that— while also providing at least 1.5-2.0yr shelf-life on all private-labeled matcha tea products. Of course, the exact number of years in the shelf life may depend on if organic ingredients are used.
